Team Building
The Low Ropes Initiatives and Team Building Exercises include physical and mental activities that are performed on or near the ground. Ground initiatives are problem solving activities, which are cooperative and experiential in nature and can be very powerful in bringing a group together to work smoothly and effectively. During initiatives and low ropes activities, the focus is on the team. These activities draw on the knowledge and ideas of every group member and require participation and cooperation of the entire team for success.
However, the difficulty and challenge increase as the team learns from its successes. Issues of trust, communication, problem solving, and acknowledgement of varied strengths within the team are dependent upon how successful your group can actually be. The reflection process after each activity is an essential component of these exercises and encourages the transfer of new concepts, which are applicable to the real world, university, and the community.
Whether your group's purpose is to build stronger interpersonal relationships or develop specific tools for the decision making process, the Outdoor Adventure Center staff will ensure a successful program.

Geocaching
Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for GPS (Global Positioning System) users. The name geocaching is derived from the "Geo" for global and "caching" as in finding a hidden treasure. It has been called everything from high-tech hide-and-seek, global scavenger hunt, to a modern version of the classic Easter egg hunt. Our staff has placed caches throughout the university campus for you and your team to find.
Each cache includes a brief history of the location and the coordinates for the next cache site. The sites have been selected and are based upon Ohio State landmarks and architecture. This experience will provide you with an entertaining way to see The Ohio State University and to work collectively as a team to find all of the caching locations.
