Fitness Schedule & Classes
Group fitness classes are held at the RPAC and other Rec Sports locations. Student members can attend group fitness for free by activating your BuckID at the RPAC Welcome Center. Faculty, staff, and affiliate members receive 30 free group fitness classes each semester with their membership.
A printable schedule is available for download in the upper right hand corner of this page.
Class locations:
B30: Lower level of the RPAC across from Cardio Canyon
B134: Main level of the RPAC past the turnstile; first multipurpose room on your right
B138E: Main level of the RPAC. Go to the end of the main walkway and turn right at the fitness floor balcony. Walk all the way to the end. The entrance will be the last door on the right.
South Gym: Lower level of the RPAC. Go down the main staircase and turn left. The gym is at the end of the hallway on the left.
Class Pool: Lower level of the RPAC. Go down the main staircase and walk straight. Enter the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion and turn right into the recreation side. The class pool is furthest to the left once you enter.
Track Level: Third floor of the RPAC.

The RPAC is open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. for Memorial Day on Saturday, May 25 - Monday, May 27. Classes will only take place during this time period during that weekend. • Classes are cancelled due to the Ohio State Special Olympics Summer Games June 29 - 30 in B134, B138E, and the South Gym. • All classes are cancelled on July 4. • Classes at Jesse Owens North and Women's Field House start June 11.

Aqua Fit - Looking for a challenging cardiovascular workout minus the impact of a floor? Aqua Fit is for you! This class is a mixed intensity workout designed for all levels. Within varying depths from 4-9 feet, the participant is instructed through a range of movements that create resistance work with a cardio focus. Noodles, water belts, water dumbbells, and water paddles give the participant an extra challenge and extra comfort, when working in the water. No swimming experience is necessary, but welcome! The option to remain in shallow water is encouraged for those who do not feel comfortable in deeper water.
Cardio Dance Mash Up - Love Cardio Dance, Shake It!, and Zumba®? This class is for you! Cardio Dance Mash-Up combines elements of different dance disciplines to bring you something new. Taught by different instructors each week, participants will be led through a dance-style workout based on the classes the instructors teach. It's a great way to mix up your workouts!
Cardio Kickboxing - Watch a video preview of this class! This combination class allows for an equal amount of cardiovascular and strength work, split by segments. An equal balance of cardio routines, drills, and sculpting exercises will get your body moving. This class yields fat burning results for both fitness novices and veterans.

Circuit Cycle - Watch a video preview of this class! Are you looking to add variety to your normal cycling class? Circuit Cycle does just that and adds an extra challenge to your workouts. Cycling intervals are broken up by power and strength intervals off the bike, which train the heart to adjust accordingly.
Cross Training - Muscle confusion, muscular endurance, be fit for any occasion... You may have heard the theories, but have you tried the exercises? Come to this class if you are serious about being challenged. This class offers a variety of class structures to test muscular and cardiovascular endurance, strength, agility, core, balance, and overall fitness.
Express Cardio Kickboxing - This 45-minute version of our classic combination class allows for an equal amount of cardiovascular and strength work, split by segments. Whether you are intimidated by the length of longer cycle sessions or are pressed for time, Express Cycle will take you through a full 45-minute cardio workout and end with a gentle stretch to get you out the door. Never say you don't have time to work out again!
Express Full Body Challenge - In this shortened version of our Full Body Challenge class, you get all the benefits of resistance training. One can expect a moderate cardio workout while training a variety of larger muscles groups to gain muscular strength and endurance. Core work is incorporated throughout, along with a flexibility portion at the end.
Express Hi/Lo Aerobics - Hi/Lo Aerobics is classic group exercise at its best. This shorter 45-minute class incorporates rhythmic movement patterns of hi and low intensities, incorporating large muscle group movements through full ranges of motion. The best part? It's fun! End class with a good stretch, deep breaths, and a stronger you!
Express Shake It! - This shorter take on your favorite cardio dance class gives you 45 minutes of choreographed dances to the latest pop songs. You will dance and shake it in ways you never thought possible! This class is a great way to let loose and dance your heart out, while working out at the same time. You will work your upper body, lower body, and core without even thinking about it. No dance experience is required. Find that hidden dancer in you!
Express Step - If step is your thing, then Express Step is your class! Express Step is an excellent cardiovascular workout that adds variety and fun to anyone's endurance training program. The novelty of the moves on and off the step assists in agility training and balance work. If you're new to step or a longtime fan, this class will make you work and keep you moving.
Express Yoga - This shortened class moves through a variety of yoga poses linked together in a balanced and systematic way. A key component of this class will be vinyasa work: the union of the breath and movement. Benefits of this type of training include heightened body awareness and mind focus, tension release, increased range of motion at the joints, and an overall sensation of more balance in life. Take a few minutes to allow your body to let go of tension and feel renewed through deep breathing combined with gentle movement. Sticky mats are provided, or feel free to bring your own.
Express Pilates - All the benefits of Pilates, without all the time. Whether you are intimidated by the length of longer Pilates sessions or are pressed for time, Express Pilates will take you through a full 40 minute Pilates workout and out the door.

Before you know it, you've reached your cardiovascular goal for the day. End class with a good stretch, deep breaths, and a stronger you!
Indo-Row® - Watch a video preview of this class! Join us for this unique indoor rowing workout where you will learn proper body mechanics of rowing by using your lower body, core, and upper body to break a sweat and have fun at the same time. You will work in teams, with a partner, and as one crew to provide a great overall body workout. Both seasoned rowers and those who have never put an oar in the water are welcome to Indo-Row®. This class is perfect for all fitness levels. Come see why they call this the perfect calorie burn!
Indoor Cycle - Watch a video preview of this class! Looking for a cardio challenge unlike the rest? Indoor Cycling is just that. Whether it is an endurance climb or a series of short strength intervals, indoor cycling classes are designed to add a great cardiovascular challenge to anyone's weekly workouts. Instructors choose the course each session takes, and provide 50 minutes of cycle training followed by 10 minutes of strength and flexibility work. Indoor Cycling naturally challenges the core due to the demand of various positions. Cross-training shoes with flat bottoms, towels, and water bottles are highly encouraged. No one leaves this class without sweating! Please do not remove the bike's pedals for any reason.
Outdoor Kettlebell - This class involves the basic fundamentals of kettlebell exercises that incorporate the whole body. It's great for both kettlebell beginners and veterans. Weather permitting, we'll move the kettlebells to the grass outside of Jesse Owens North.
Pilates - Watch a video preview of this class! Based on Joseph Pilates's philosophy of the body and movement, this class teaches the foundation of Pilates exercises. Learn breathing, shoulder stability, pelvic positioning, spinal elongation, and basic mat work exercises. Variations and modification of exercises will be provided. Benefits of Pilates work include improved posture, balance, flexibility, range of motion, and neuromuscular function increased lung capacity, body awareness, stronger core muscles, and more! Sticky mats provided, or feel free to bring your own.
Restorative Yoga - Energize your body through passive stretch techniques. Allow the body to completely let go of tension and feel renewed through deep breath practice combined with poses designed to open and restore. This class uses multiple yoga props and allows for an even greater sense of relaxation through length and depth of supported holding poses. Treat your body to this restorative class.
Shake It! - Watch a video preview of this class! Spice up your workout routine in a fun and exciting way! Shake it! gives you an hour of choreographed dances to the latest pop songs. You will dance and shake it in ways you never thought were possible! This class is a great way to let loose and dance your heart out while working out at the same time. You will work your upper body, lower body, and core without even thinking about it. No dance experience is required. Find that hidden dancer in you!
Step Kickboxing - Love step aerobics AND cardio kickboxing? Then this class is for you! Classic step choreography will be combined with cardio kick based combos and drills to provide the ultimate cardio workout. Come sweat it out, while keeping your heart rate up and entire body moving!
Suspension Training® - Watch a video preview of this class! Challenge yourself and try something new. This class will take you through a series of strength circuits on the Suspension Trainer®, an integrated fitness training system that will be sure to test your strength and balance. Cardio drills may also be incorporated to get your heart racing. Each class is a new workout with a similar structure. Learn a totally new way to train!

WERK IT! - WERK IT! is a cardio dance class that helps you burn off the calories to your favorite songs and helps you feel confident and comfortable in your body. Each class consists of choreographed dances, along with sections that allow you to freestyle dance. You'll have such a great time, you won't even realize you are working out! ZUMBA® - Watch a video preview of this class! Tired of the treadmill? This class is a high energy, heart pumping, dance-inspired workout that fuses traditional Latin rhythms such as Salsa and Merengue with hip hop. Each class features simple, yet incredibly fun routines that help tone your body and get your heart rate up! Dance experience is not required; our instructor will work with participants to ensure the best results. You will have so much fun that you'll forget you're working out!
