Fitness Staff
Our team of instructors is comprised of university students, faculty, and staff with a genuine love for health and fitness. All have gone through an extensive in-house training program that focuses on exercise science principles, leadership, and customer service. One of the unique aspects of our program is that no previous experience is necessary to become an instructor.

Fitness Instructors and Monitors:
Alexis-Instructor: Alexis, a graduate of Ohio State, has taught indoor cycling classes for over three years. A big focus of her life has always been athletics and working out. She enjoys pushing herself and others to their fullest potential.
Alex C.-Instructor/Monitor: Alex is a third-year strategic communication major and professional writing minor from Chandler, Ariz. She danced for 15 years and wanted to continue dancing in college by teaching others what she loves to do. She currently teaches Cardio Dance and is going to be teaching ZUMBA®!
Alex P.-Instructor/Monitor: Alexandra is pursing psychology pre-medicine as her major and hopes to one day attend medical school. She participated in gymnastics, cheerleading, and cross-country throughout high school. She found group fitness through her mom who owns her personal training and aerobics studio. Alex enjoys helping other people find the same passion in working out as she does.
Allison-Instructor: Allison, a graduate student from Sylvania, Ohio, is pursuing a master's of education in foreign and second language education. She loves to exercise and has been an avid runner since seventh grade. She likes to motivate people and encourage them to try new things and reach new fitness levels. Her favorite classes include Circuit Cycle, Indoor Cycle, Boot Camp, and Body Sculpt.
Amber-Instructor: Amber, from Hilliard, Ohio, is a fourth-year majoring in human nutrition and community health. Amber was a gymnast for 18 years. She enjoys educating people to get into the best shape of their life. Her passions include eating clean along with maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
Anna-Instructor: Anna is a second-year engineering student from Avon, Ohio. She discovered group fitness through her passion for team sports. She loves meeting new people and encouraging them to strive for an active and healthy lifestyle.
Anthony-Monitor: Anthony is a second-year, former engineering student turned fine arts major. He is a group fitness room monitor who enjoys seeing regular class participants. Anthony strives for a healthy, balanced, and carefree existence.
Brooke-Instructor: Brooke is a second-year student from Hudson, Ohio, studying communication. Working out and being healthy have always been strong passions of hers. She is thrilled to teach and motivate others to a live a healthy lifestyle. The classes she enjoys most are strength and cycling.
Christine-Instructor: Christine is a fourth-year studying human resources with the goal of becoming a human resources specialist. She has been dancing for 18 years and is thrilled to continue this passion as a ZUMBA® instructor. She is excited to share her enthusiasm for dance with others and hopes to encourage others to live a healthy and positive lifestyle.
Claudia-Instructor/Monitor: Claudia is a second-year at Ohio State from Avon, Ohio. She is majoring in psychology and English, with the goal of attending law school. She ran track in high school but never really liked working out until her senior year, when she became more interested in fitness. She loves strength training and hopes to bring that passion into her classes!
Daniella-Instructor/Monitor: Daniella is a third-year family studies major. She played soccer her whole life and ran track in high school. She loves living a healthy lifestyle and loves helping others do the same.
Dina-Instructor: Dina is a third-year studying pre-dentistry and business with the goal of becoming a dentist. She believes positivity, fitness, and leading an active lifestyle are key to maintaining good health and happiness. She hopes to motivate others to achieve their fitness goals and challenge participants in her Cardio Kickbox classes!
Emily-Supervisor: Emily is a second-year political science major with plans on attending law school after graduation. She spends her spare time studying, working out, and fulfilling her responsibilities in her sorority and church leadership team. Emily hopes to inspire students to make smart lifestyle choices!
Emily-Instructor: Emily is in her junior year and is majoring in psychology and international studies. She loves being outdoors, spending time with friends, biking, running, peanut butter, and the simple joys of life. Emily is heavily involved with Young Life on campus, and enjoys any activity that involves meeting new people! She is excited to encourage and be encouraged by her peers during her fitness classes and looks forward to learning new things!
Gina-Supervisor: Gina is a third-year student majoring in health sciences with plans of becoming an occupational therapist. She has been on a dance team since she was young, so she enjoys being active with other people.
Hannah-Instructor/Monitor: Hannah is a third-year animal sciences major and French minor. She plans to graduate in spring 2014 and continue her education in veterinary medicine. Since coming to Ohio State, Hannah has expanded her fitness interests to kickboxing, weight training, running, and more.
Hayley H.-Instructor: Hayley is a third-year speech and hearing science major and a Spanish minor from Houston, Ohio. A former volleyball, basketball, and softball player, Hayley enjoys giving people a fun and effective way to work out through Cardio Dance.
Hayley K.-Instructor/Monitor: Hayley is a fourth-year from Alabama majoring in food science with a minor in integrative approaches to health and wellness. She wants to help motivate people to not only get through their workouts, but enjoy them and get stronger in the process.
Heather-Instructor: Heather is a third-year majoring in health sciences with a minor in life sciences. Her goal is to become a physician assistant and work in a family practice. Heather was not a runner, but challenged herself to run the Columbus Half Marathon in October 2011, and is running this year, as well. Her favorite classes are Cardio Sculpt, ZUMBA®, H.A.B.I.T., and Hip Hop Cardio Dance.
Jackie S.-Instructor: Jackie is a third-year student from Bexley, Ohio, studying history with minors in Spanish and psychology. She has always prioritized eating healthy and staying active, and her mom, who is a yoga teacher, got her into doing yoga regularly six years ago. As a yoga teacher, she is passionate about helping people increase their body-awareness and work toward a balanced, strong, flexible, and properly-aligned body.
Jacque M.-Instructor: Jacque is a 2011 graduate of Ohio State with a degree in hospitality management and minor in business. She works for Marriott International as a sales coordinator at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel. She also opened her own travel agent practice called Journeys by Jacque. She has been a group fitness instructor since 2009 and enjoys teaching cardio, kickboxing, and strength classes.
Jana-Instructor: Jana was born and raised in Columbus and is entering her fourth-year at Ohio State. She is a hospitality management major hoping to attend culinary school. Being an athlete her whole life, she enjoys teaching cardio-based classes. Her passion is for people to get off the machines and enjoy a good sweat!
Jenny H.-Instructor: Jenny is a first-year graduate student in the College of Nursing, working on becoming a nurse practitioner. She has a bachelor of science in nutrition. Running, biking outdoors, snow skiing, and water skiing are a few of her favorite activities. She loves group fitness because it is a great way to get an amazing workout and meet fun and exciting people!
Jenny K.-Instructor/Monitor: Jenny is in her third year at Ohio State majoring in exercise science and is also a third-year instructor. She plays soccer in her spare time and is interested in discovering new and exciting ways to stay fit and strong. She strives to live an active and healthy lifestyle, and loves teaching group fitness and helping others reach their fitness goals.
Kayla-Instructor: Kayla, a second year from Strongsville, Ohio, is majoring in biology, with a minor in Spanish. After graduation, she hopes to attend optometry school, and eventually, own a private practice. Kayla loves exercising, and became interested due to her involvement in volleyball, basketball, and diving.
Kelly-Instructor/Monitor: Kelly, a senior from Portage, Michigan, is studying political science and economics. When she's not working out or studying, she enjoys going shopping, watching movies with friends, and attending football and basketball games.
Kendra-Instructor: A 2012 graduate of Ohio State with a degree in medical laboratory science and minor in integrative approaches to health and wellness, Kendra now works at Ohio State's Wexner Medical Center. She enjoys running and training for half-marathons along with strength training.
Kirsten-Instructor: Kirsten is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University, and is continuing her education at Ohio State's College of Veterinary Medicine, class of 2016. She loves dancing, volunteering, and learning new things. Exercise is one of her favorite ways to relieve stress, bond with fellow Buckeyes, and improve her overall well-being. She's excited to share her enthusiasm for fitness with others.
Lindsey F.-Instructor: Lindsey is a third-year majoring in health sciences with a minor in life sciences. She plans to attend medical school after completing her undergraduate degree. She loves group fitness because working out with others is a great stress reliever and gives her unbeatable motivation. Strength training is her favorite aspect of fitness to teach and to participate in!
Lindsey M.-Instructor/Monitor: Lindsey is a fourth-year from Massachusetts majoring in accounting. After competing in synchronized ice-skating for six years, Lindsey fell in love with group fitness classes. She loves motivating others and pushing them to reach their highest potential.
Marie-Instructor: Marie is a fourth-year pharmaceutical sciences major from Cleveland. She started doing yoga with her dad in high school. She loves working at the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC) because of the uplifting environment and the inspiration she receives from people in her class.
Mary-Instructor: Mary, a second year from Upper Arlington, Ohio, is majoring in exercise science and is in the pre-physical therapy program. She loves working out and motivating others to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
McKenzie-Instructor/Monitor: McKenzie is from the west side of Cleveland. She is majoring in English and journalism with minors in women's gender and sexuality studies and political science. She enjoys literature, social activism, theater, and sewing.
Meg-Instructor/Monitor: Meg is a third-year student at Ohio State from West Chester, Ohio. She is majoring in exercise science with the goal of attending physical therapy school after graduation. Meg loves to motivate others to achieve their fitness goals. Some of her favorite group fitness classes include Circuit Cycle and Cross Training.
Monica-Instructor/Monitor: Monica is a fourth-year zoology major and biological bases of psychology minor from Solon, Ohio. She is president of the Zoology Club, and you can find her volunteering with big cats on the weekends. She loves inspiring others to get fit and live healthier lifestyles through her Cardio Dance classes!
Natalie-Instructor: Natalie is a third-year instructor pursuing a career in occupational therapy. She is passionate about staying fit and healthy, and helping others discover how fun and important exercising is.
Nick-Instructor: Nick is a third-year chemical and biomolecular engineer. He has been extensively involved in athletics since high school, with focuses in endurance, marathon training, strength, and conditioning. He hopes to spread the idea of "total fitness," meaning fitness in all aspects of life: physical, mental, and emotional.
Priya-Instructor/Monitor: Priya is a second-year dietetics major, with a passion for being healthy and happy. She enjoys teaching ZUMBA®, living an active lifestyle, and motivating others. She loves the team aspect of group fitness, and hopes to inspire people through her classes.
Rachel-Instructor: Food scientist by day, yoga teacher by night, Rachel is excited to continue teaching yoga at her alma mater. She loves teaching yoga and tries to fill each class with a fun, but relaxing atmosphere. Chances are she will have you popping into arm balances without even noticing.
Rachel N.-Instructor/Monitor: Rachel is currently a fourth-year studying animal science with a minor in psychology. It is her dream to one day work with marine mammals. She loves teaching group fitness because it is fun to meet new people and have a blast while working out!
Sam S.-Instructor: Sam is a fourth-year student studying nutrition in industry. In her spare time, she likes to run, go to the mall, and try foreign foods. This is Sam's fourth year teaching.
Sierra-Instructor: Sierra graduated from Ohio State with a Bachelor of Science in meteorology in 2012. She currently teaches organic chemistry laboratory sections. In her spare time, she tutors mathematics and works as a volunteer in the palliative care unit at the Wexner Medical Center. Sierra intends to begin medical school in July 2013.
Stephanie K.-Supervisor: Stephanie is majoring in chemical engineering with minors in dance and business. Dance has always been a huge part of her life, and she loves fitness and working out!
