Sometimes a little help and motivation goes a long way on the road to overall fitness. Through a tailored exercise program, our certified personal trainers can help you meet your fitness goals.
The overall goal of this program is to assist participants in achieving physical fitness benefits effectively.
To achieve this goal, the following objectives are set. A trainer will work with you to:
1. Set clear and realistic physical fitness goals, using the guidelines set by the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Heart Association. Objectives include:
- How fitness goals will be achieved
- Amount of work needed to reach goals
- Types of activities desired to reach goals
- Frequency and intensity of workouts
2. Recommend and instruct on proper exercise techniques. Objectives include:
- Teach safe and effective use of equipment to avoid injury
- Teach proper body mechanics
- Teach and provide exercises that suit fitness needs
3. Individualize a physical fitness workout program. Objectives include:
- Incorporate the components of total fitness including muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular conditioning
- Guide fitness workouts
- Monitor progress and adjust workouts accordingly

Fee Structure
Members Prices:
1-on-1 training session $30/hour* 30-day expiration
1-on-1 30 min session $17.50 (30 day expiration)
2-4 persons $20/hour (per person) 30-day exp.
5-7 persons $12/hour (per person)
8+ persons $10/hour (per person)
Clinics $6 per person
*Purchase 8 or more sessions at one time and pay only $25 per session (no refunds available). 90-day expiration date.

60-Minute 8-Pack
60-minute sessions are reduced to just $25 each when you purchase 8 or more in advance. Sometimes a little help and motivation are needed to get fit. Through a tailored exercise program, Personal Training gives members interaction with a certified and equivalently-trained personal trainer who can help them meet their fitness goals. Each trainer will first assess a participant's fitness level and then tailor a personal exercise program based on those assessments.
Fall Resistance Training Class
Fall resistance training class registration is just around the corner. Beginning September 7, all members can register for the 30-minute Free Motion circuit training class. All classes begin Monday, September 28 at 6:30 a.m. Women's only resistance training will begin on Tuesday, September 29 at 5:45-6:30 p.m.
Both Free Motion and Women's Resistance Training classes cost just $45 per quarter, and that's for 20 meetings with a Recreational Sports' personal trainer! Please register on or after September 7 at the RPAC Welcome Center desk. For more details please call 292-5153.
Free Equipment Orientations
Beginning September 28, Monday-Friday at 7:45 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m., and on Saturday at 10 a.m. Our personal training staff can show you how to properly operate our Free Motion, Paramount, and Cybex equipment lines in about 60 minutes. Please call the personal training program at 292-5153 to schedule. During summer quarter, orientations may be scheduled by appointment.
World Instructor Training Schools (WITS)
The next personal training certification course will begin on Saturday, January 9, 2010. Registration for the course will be available November 9, 2009. Call 614-292-5153 for details.
