Team Registration
Tournament Format
Games will be officiated according to NIRSA rules. We recommend that you get a rulebook from your intramural director/coordinator. A limited number of rulebooks will be available upon request at the captain's meeting. Refer to the rules sheet for more information.
All teams will be placed in a three team round robin pool. The top two teams from each pool will advance to a single elimination playoff. Teams may play once on Friday, November 7, 2008. All teams will return to play Saturday, November 8. The single elimination tournaments will begin Saturday afternoon and finish before 4 p.m. on Sunday. You will know your opponent, time of games, and field number by the Captain's Meeting on Friday, November 7, 2008. The round robin schedules and tournament brackets will be posted at the fields at all times.
Game time is forfeit time. Men’s and Women’s teams must have five players to start the game and Co-Rec teams must have six players to start the game.
Equipment
(see NIRSA Rulebook for required game equipment)
- Teams must bring same colored jerseys with numbers on both the front and back.
- Footballs will be available.
- Bring towels to wipe off wet footballs.
- Flag belts will be provided.
- Be prepared for any kind of weather-rain, sleet, or snow.
Eligibility
- Must be a current student with proper identification, and eligible according to NIRSA regulations.
- All team members must be from same institution.
- Members of 2007-2008 intercollegiate football teams are not eligible to play in the tournament.
- Any player having been a professional in football is not eligible to be in the tournament.
- Proposition 48 athletes are not eligible as per NCAA guidelines.
Player IDs
Each team member must bring a valid Institution photo ID card. If your Institution ID does not have a photo, you will need an additional photo ID IDs will be checked at each game.
