Small Tournaments

Intramural sports brings you many sports, including racquetball, table tennis, disc golf, badminton, Friday Night Lights series, pickleball, bench press competition, skills challenge, wrestling, arm wrestling, and chess, in the form of a one day tournament. Each sport is described below, along with registration information. All small tournaments are free! View step-by-step instructions on how to register or register now!


Racquetball

Intramural racquetball is a singles tournament and therefore only requires one person to play. All matches will be played at the RPAC on the racquetball courts during autumn semester. Rally scoring will be used and all games will be played to 15. Games are played best out of three matches or a max time of 60 minutes.

Table Tennis

Intramural table tennis is a singles tournament and therefore only requires one person to play. All matches will be played at the Jesse Owens South table tennis area during autumn semester. Games are played best out of three matches or a max time of 60 minutes.

Disc Golf

Intramural disc golf is a singles tournament and only requires one person to play. All matches will be played at the West Campus Disc Golf Course during autumn semester. Games shall consist of 18 holes.

Badminton

Intramural badminton is a singles tournament, therefore requiring one person to play. All matches will be played at the RPAC North Gym during autumn semester. Games are played best out of three matches or a max time of 60 minutes.

Pickleball

Intramural pickleball is a singles tournament and requires one person to play. All matches will be played at the RPAC North Gym during autumn semester. The first person to score 11 points wins (must win by two points). Games are played best out of three matches or a max time of 60 minutes.

Bench Press

Intramural bench press is a singles tournament and therefore only requires one person to play. This competition takes place at the Jesse Owens North Fitness Floor during the spring semester.

Skills Challenge

Intramural skills challenge is built to test your abilities in a variety of athletic competency tests.

When/Registration: Information to come!


Wrestling

Intramural wrestling is a singles tournament. The tournament will be a round-robin format followed by a single elimination bracket. Weight classes will be determined based on the participants who register. The meet will be held in the RPAC Multipurpose Room #1.

Arm Wrestling

Intramural arm wrestling is a singles, single elimination bracket tournament. The tournament will use an official arm wrestling table for the event. The event will be held in the RPAC Lower Main Space.

When: Thursday, April 11, 2013; 6 - 10 p.m.

Registration: Monday, January 7, 2013, at 9 a.m. - Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 11:59 p.m.


Chess

Intramural chess is a singles tournament. The tournament will be a round-robin format followed by a single elimination bracket. Depending on the number of participants, participants may be broken into playing ability levels for tournament play. Matches will be held in the RPAC Dave Griner Room.

Friday Night Lights

The Friday Night Lights program is a three-week season featuring different sports: softball, flag football, and soccer. The top two teams from each division plus two wildcards (tie-breaker: best record, points against, points for) qualify for playoffs. The quarterfinal game for playoffs is softball, the semifinal game is flag football, and the championship game is soccer. Registration is free! Winners receive a Nike duffle bag and champion T-shirt.
