Scholarships
Recreational Sports strives to create an environment of learning and enrichment for all Ohio State University community members. Scholarships are available via an application process to those who meet required criteria.
Scholar Profile
Niko McMurray, a veteran lifeguard for Rec Sports Aquatics, received the 2009 Dave Griner Endowed Scholarship.
"After the initial surprise of receiving this scholarship, I was both excited and grateful to be chosen as a recipient," said McMurray, a second year Materials Science and Engineering major. "The support through this scholarship really shows that the Recreational Sports Department cares about its employees."
McMurray was concerned with juggling all of his campus activities, classes and working extra hours to pay for school. This scholarship will help alleviate major financial concerns while recognizing his efforts.
"The scholarship is also a great motivator in that I am being rewarded for being involved on campus while balancing academics as well as extracurriculars," said McMurray.
