Wipeout! Protocol

  • You should be a strong swimmer who is comfortable in deep water. Anyone who is not a strong swimmer is required to wear a professional flotation device (provided). WIPEOUT! is not recommended for non-swimmers.
  • Proper swimwear is required to participate. T-shirts should be worn over two piece swim-suits due to the nature of this activity.
  • WIPEOUT! is designed to be an individual effort, racing against the clock. You are not permitted to touch, push, trip, wrestle OR DISTRACT OTHER PARTICIPATS.
  • Anyone exhibiting unsafe or reckless behavior will be disqualified.
  • No swimming underneath any part of the course.
  • If you fall to the left or right side of the course, you must climb back onto the course in the same spot.
  • If you fall inside a course element, you may swim forward to the next section.
  • If at any time you feel you can't continue, hold onto the course and wave to the nearest lifeguard for assistance.
  • You will be provided with an ankle brace BibTag to record your time. Your time begins when you cross the start pad and ends when you cross the finish pad on the pool deck.
  • Personal items can be dropped off at the start of the course and retrieved after you finish. Rec Sports is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • On-deck changing rooms are available for those needing to change into swimsuits. Lockers are not available. Towels will be available at the end of the course.
  • You must return your ankle brace BibTag upon the completion of the race. If you do not return your ankle brace BibTag immediately upon finishing, your results will be impacted.
