Notice About Daily Health Check

January 11, 2021

As we start the new semester, we to thank you for your continued efforts to promote a safe and healthy Ohio State community and also bring to your attention a new operational procedure that has gone into effect.

Anyone accessing the recreation facilities, including for academic classes, will need to show a green status from their Daily Health Report to proceed through the access control point at all recreation facilities.

If you do not have a smart device, you can visit the RPAC Welcome Center or facility front desk to complete the health check on an iPad, which will include having your temperature taken, before you will be allowed to access the facility.

Please note that as of Sunday, January 31, students’ Daily Health Report status will also take into account testing compliance. If you do not complete your weekly testing, your status will be red until the next time you complete a test. If you have an approved testing exemption on file, this will not impact your health report status.

This is an additional way we can continue to promote health and safety and fight the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

Please remember a mask covering the nose, mouth and chin is required at all times in the facilities except when actively swimming.  Also, if you have had COVID-19, you should not begin strenuous exercise until you have been checked and cleared by your health care provider for myocarditis. Myocarditis is a heart muscle inflammation that affects more than 10% of those infected with COVID-19. Vigorous exercise with myocarditis can increase risk for heart rhythm problems. This protocol was developed for our football and all sports teams and is applicable to all students, faculty and staff.

We will continue to bring additional facilities online and expand our hours as students return to campus. We will also make adjustments as needed to follow state and local guidelines, including the current statewide curfew through January 23. Please check our website for our current hours before visiting.
