Adapted Recreation

Starting fall of 2018, we are transitioning to a self-reimbursement policy for participants paying for programs through county waivers. Participants are now required to pay in full for programing and be reimbursed from their county. We will be sure to provide you with a copy of your receipts and any other documentation needed.

Session 2 Opens February 3 and closes on February 25

Due to the McCorkle tile project, we will not be offering summer Adapted swim lessons. Registration for Fall session will open in August. Be sure to check out our summer camp 2019 options!

Children's Adapted Aquatics

Children's Adapted Aquatics (CAA) teaches skills in progression, allowing participants to swim and play safely in the water. Participants, with one-on-one instruction, will be individually assessed on their swimming skills. Instructors will create weekly lesson plans to work with each child on their water safety and swimming skills. CAA lessons are grouped according to age to facilitate the socialization benefits of class. Typically, the 3-5 year old class covers Learn-to-Swim preschool levels 1-3, the 6-9 year old class typically covers levels 1-4 and ages 10-16 are usually between levels 3-6. If a class is full, please contact the Community Programs Office to see if another class may be an appropriate substitute.
