Graduate Assistantships

All GAA positions with the Department of Recreational Sports have been filled.  Please refer to the attached flyer for information on GAA positions for the 2019-2020 academic year. 


To be considered for an assistantship, applications to the Graduate College and to one of the graduate programs listed below must be submitted by November 30, 2018. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for acceptance into any graduate program. Average GRE scores are as follows: 153 (quantitative) and 152 (verbal).  Please review each program’s website for more information on how to apply:


  • A full in-state/out of state tuition waiver
  • 9 month stipend of $1700 per month with potential for summer employment
  • Professional development opportunities and membership in the Student Professional Development Association (SPDA)



The application will be posted in early September. Applications will be accepted until positions are filled. Preference will be given to applications received by November 30, 2018. Please submit the application form, a cover letter, resume, GRE scores (quantitative, verbal and writing), and overall GPA and assistantship positions of choice by emailing or mailing application to:
