  • Yes, open to the current Ohio State community and all Rec Sports members
  • Students and Recreational Sports members can receive a free safety check during open hours

Free service for Students and Rec Sports Members

Inspect chain stretch, quickly lubricate chain, check: headset, bolt torques, crankset/pedal tightness, tire condition/pressure and very basic shift/brake adjustments to correct for cable stretch; can be used for further evaluation of needed repairs. Goal is to ensure the bike is operating safely, but includes minimal hands-on adjustments. Bike cleaning not included.

Quick Tune 

$35

This is for any bike generally performing well, but needs minor maintenance such as basic shift adjustments to improve performance. Includes lubricating moving parts, adjusting headset, checking bolt torques, crankset/pedal tightness, tire condition/pressure, basic shift and brake adjustments as needed. Does not include installing new parts or cleaning the bicycle.

Basic Tune and Clean 

$70

This is meant as an actual performance tune up providing improvement of riding condition and is advised annually for bikes that are regularly ridden or for bikes that not been ridden in a long time. Includes detailed bike cleaning, lubrication of all moving parts, safety checks as performed above, detailed shifting and braking tune up. New parts can be installed at no cost, but replacement part’s cost is not included.

Comprehensive Tune

 

$100

The comprehensive tune covers any maintenance needed and all of the above items and would be considered a refresh of a used bike. The package includes installation of purchased new parts (part cost not included), plus replacement of all cables (and the cost of the cables). Does not include brake pads.

Complete Overhaul

$180

Essentially rebuilding the bike, meant to make a bike feel like new. Includes all the above service items, and includes new brake pads, cassette and chain. Additional purchased parts (such as fenders/bags etc) installed at no extra cost.
