Become a Personal Trainer

 Are you interested in taking your fitness and wellness knowledge to the next level? Do you want to help others reach their fitness goals? Rec Sports offers two training programs to prepare students, members, and nonmembers become nationally certified personal trainers. 

The BuckeyePT Prep Course is a free in house training program held during the fall semesters designed to prepare full time students who are interested in becoming a personal trainer at Ohio State. This program is lecture based as well as hands on. The students will meet 2-3x a week for the entirety of fall semester, learning material on human anatomy, physiology, program design, etc. Students who finish the course and pass their ACE exam are then eligible for hire at Rec Sports.

Fall 2016

BuckeyePT Prep Course

Course Dates: Mondays beginning August 29 – November 21, 2016 (no class Monday September 5 due to Labor Day)

Time: 4 - 6 p.m.

Location: Initial Meeting Date (Aug 29) – Dave Griner Room

Cost: Free (only full time Ohio State students may apply.)

Spring 2017

ACE Prep Course

 

Course Dates: Mondays beginning January 23 – April 17, 2017 (no class Monday March 13 due to Spring Break)

Time: 4 - 6 p.m.

Location: RPAC Meeting Room 3

Cost: $100 for Ohio State students or Rec Sports members, $150 for non-members. 

Registration will open at the RPAC Welcome Center on Monday, December 5. You may also register over the phone by calling 614-292-7671.
