Special Event Classes And Programs

Try something new! We offer both free and fee based special event classes and programs. Programs with increased instruction and skill-based elements require participants to pay a nominal registration fee at sign-up. See below for our current offerings. All Special Event Classes and Programs are open to current Rec Sports Members ONLY. You must be a member or student with a current membership to enroll and participate.

Buckeyes Get Fit Challenge

Sunday, April 1 – Sunday, April 22

The New Year is not the only time you can self-reflect, make new goals and start living a life in motion – it’s never too late to get fit! Regardless of where you are in your fitness journey, we challenge you to attend 15 classes of your choice from April 1-22. Starting Sunday, April 1, all participants enrolled in our Buckeyes Get Fit Challenge will be able to swipe their BuckID at the end of each group fitness class they attend to keep track of their progress. Challengers that attend at least 9 classes will receive a prize for participating, while those that complete all 15 will win the ultimate Rec Sports Swag. Keep us posted throughout your journey by tagging @osurec and #buckeyesgetfit on your Instagram story and be entered to win even more prizes!

Good Vibes: Chakra Exploration Workshop

Sunday April 15: 2-3:30 p.m. RPAC B134

Discover your innermost self with this educational and interactive yoga workshop. Join us for this 90-minute flow infused with an introduction to the chakras, or the ancient Indian belief in seven centers of energy throughout the body. Learn about what they are, how to tap into them and how to balance your own natural energy through gentle breath work and poses. Whether you are brand new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, this workshop will ignite your practice and help you channel your best self!

This workshop is FREE and open to the first 40 participants. Be sure to arrive early to claim your spot and increase your chances of receiving Rec Sports swag!


Meditation Station
Tuesday, April 24: 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. RPAC B138E

Take a break from your hectic study schedule and drop into our Meditation Station. All day long, we will be providing a quiet, technology-free space for anything from meditating, to reading, to napping. Yoga mats, bolsters, blankets and blocks will be available for use and short, guided meditation will be held on the hour, every hour. Our Meditation Station is open to everyone and anyone - all you need to do is show up!
