Australia Trip

Every once in a while, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity comes along, and we think this may be YOURS!

We hope you will join the Student Life Rec Sports’ Outdoor Adventure Center for an extraordinary annual international adventure leadership experience in not only AUSTRALIA, but also NEW ZEALAND this coming May and June!  If you choose to join us, you will be heading to both Australia AND New Zealand!

In 2019, there will be two separate trips heading Down Under, and each group will have the same itinerary.  The only difference is that one group will travel from Australia to New Zealand, and the other from New Zealand to Australia.

These adventure/leadership trips to the Land of Oz and New Zealand will encompass international flights to and from the United States and Sydney, Australia and Christchurch, New Zealand, where we will immerse ourselves in the rich and vibrant culture of the southern continent and countries, travelling to many cities and towns, striking a balance between adventure and leadership development.  You can anticipate sea-kayaking, rafting, biking, hiking, rainforest trekking, snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef (with optional scuba diving), surfing, stand-up paddle-boarding, glacier exploration and hanging with kangaroos, koalas, penguins, fur-seals and other exotic native animals.  Optional activities will include sky-diving, bungee-jumping, horseback riding, paragliding, luge-riding, wildlife sanctuaries and much, much more.

Accommodations will include hostels, lodges, and hotels.  Leadership theory presentations will be intertwined with these experiences and participants will be actively involved in the leadership process. Students can expect to discover fresh leadership theory, put it into practice while in the field and receive feedback at the end of the day.

Watch this video from previous trips!

The 2019 trip will run from May 12 – June 5.

The total cost of the international expedition is inclusive of international flights, meals, all in-country transportation of trains, planes, boats and vehicles, lodging, activities, staffing and facilitation.  Approved S.T.E.P. proposals will allow application of S.T.E.P. funds toward this trip.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, email or call Spenser, 614-247-8243, and ask any and all questions you may have. The two, separate trips will each accommodate 15-25 participants.

We look forward to hearing from you regarding this trip!  Don’t miss a truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk the Land Down Under, explore the land of Lord of the Rings and grow your leadership potential in ways you can only imagine!
