Wilderness Welcome (trips for incoming first-year students)

Form connections and let the ADVENTURE begin!

Connect to Ohio State and fellow first-year students through Wilderness Welcome. The OAC is thrilled to welcome first-year students to campus with an adventure designed to connect students to each other and the excitement of being a Buckeye. Meet other adventurous first-year students, be a part of a memorable wilderness trip and make a bold start to your university experience. Wilderness Welcome occurs the week before move-in, is open to all experience levels, and is only open to first-year students or new transfer students. During the trip, we'll securely store your residence hall items and after the trip, we'll help you move in early and join in on the OWLs program! Each program contains a specifically designed curriculum to prepare students for campus and the challenges they will face, and will provide leadership experience to make a solid transition. All programs are run with the support of outstanding student leaders whose goal is to help make your transition to OSU the best it can be.

Once you sign up for one of our trips make sure to also sign up for the OWL program using this link. Ohio State Welcome Leaders (OWLs) are an essential part of the move-in process at The Ohio State University. Every year we recruit hundreds of OWLs to move-in early and prepare their residence halls and build community. This is an exclusive opportunity to interact with other student leaders and welcome outstanding students to campus.
