Our Facilities are Open!
August 6, 2020
We are so excited to open our doors to our campus community members again! We thank you for your continued patience and hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy. In addition to all available federal, state, local and university guidelines, Student Life Recreational Sports will also follow the guidance of national sports governing bodies to ensure physical distancing practices and other safety protocols are in place. Additional information is available on the Safe and Healthy Buckeyes website.
Currently the RPAC, OAC, JOS, ARC and NRC are open. Our hours are subject to change and we encourage you to check our website before you visit. Jesse Owens North (JON) will remain closed autumn semester to provide COVID-19 testing. We have moved some of the equipment from JON to the Adventure Recreation Center (ARC) so you will still be able to find certain pieces that were previously at JON at the ARC.
Please sign the facility access waiver prior to your visit to expedite your access into the facilities. Access will not be allowed to any indoor recreation facility without completion of the waiver effective September 1, 2020. The waiver can be viewed and signed electronically through the recregister.osu.edu portal.
Please see the Student Life Return to Campus Plan for more details about available activities. We will add activities and facilities as it is safe and within local and state guidelines.
All members are expected to follow the guidelines outlines for a safe return to campus, for faculty, staff and students the Daily Health Check must be completed before coming to campus. Affiliate members are asked to check their temperature and not come to campus if feeling ill.
Masks are required in all public spaces and when not participating in strenuous physical activity and swimming. Please wash your hands pre- and post-work out. We are capping the facility capacity so ask that all members not linger in the building before or after your workout. Read more about our operational changes here.
If you are scheduled for classes in any of the Recreational facilities, including those not yet open for recreation, please bring your BuckID with you to ensure entry to the building.
Virtual intramural sports and fitness classes will resume in the coming weeks to help you work out and build community. Check the website for offerings. Group fitness LIVE archives are also available.
We look forward to seeing you in the facilities. Thank you for your flexibility this semester as we adapt our spaces and offerings as necessary.
