Personal Training

Our personal training program offers one-on-one training, buddy training, online instructional programs and fitness assessments and to help you meet your fitness goals!

If you are ready to start personal training, please click on Get Matched with a Trainer within the Personal Training dropdown, to fill out the personal training request form.

PLEASE NOTE: Personal Trainer availability is currently limited due to student trainer’s academic schedules. All new personal training requests will be put on a waitlist. You will be matched with a Personal Trainer as soon as one becomes available.

COVID-19 Updates

All individuals, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a face mask while indoors.

Equipment used in each session will be wiped and cleaned after use.

We encourage hand washing before and after your fitness sessions.

Clients must:

  • Cancel their session if they have felt sick within the past 24 hours. (sessions will not be penalized for late cancelations)
  • Clients will not be permitted to store any items in the fitness suite and should only bring their towel, Buck-ID and water bottle to the session. All other belongings should be stored in a day locker.

About Personal Training

Sometimes, a little help and motivation go a long way on the road to overall fitness. Through a tailored exercise program, our certified personal trainers can help you meet your fitness goals.

The overall goal of this program is to assist participants in achieving physical fitness benefits effectively.

To achieve this goal, the following objectives are set. A trainer will work with you to:

  • How fitness goals will be achieved
  • Amount of work needed to reach goals
  • Types of activities desired to reach goals
  • Frequency and intensity of workouts
  • Teach safe and effective use of equipment to avoid injury
  • Teach proper body mechanics
  • Teach and provide exercises that suit fitness needs
  • Incorporate the components of total fitness including muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular conditioning
  • Guide fitness workouts
  • Monitor progress and adjust workouts accordingly
  • Provide accountability and motivation in achieving fitness goals

To compliment your workout plan, consider a free nutrition coaching session available to all currently enrolled Ohio State students through the Student Life Student Wellness Center located in the RPAC. Each session includes a nutrition assessment, education and goal setting. Discuss popular topics like:

  • Weight management
  • Meal planning
  • Grocery shopping
  • Dining out
  • Physical fitness
  • Body image concerns
  • Disordered eating
  • Setting personal goals
  • Special diets (i.e. vegetarian, food allergies, hypoglycemia, gastro-intestinal issues, etc.)
  • And more!

*Receive a FREE fitness assessment when you purchase your first package of 5 sessions or more! Reoccurring clients are eligible for an additional free assessment once every 4 weeks thereafter.

Member Prices: (Must be a Rec Sports member or full time student to participate in personal training services.)

Private Training

*Private training can be purchased online at, or at the RPAC Welcome Center. Please fill out the Personal Training request form at before purchasing training packages. Following the proper protocol will ensure we have a trainer available for you that fits into your schedule before purchase.
