Family Hours 2021

Family hours have returned to Rec Sports this summer with family swimming and indoor climbing. For the summer term family hours are limited to these two activities.

Family Swimming Drop In

Effective June 10 family hours swimming will move from a required reservation to drop in. Family hours swimming is available for active members and their registered dependents in the leisure pool on Friday evenings (4-8 p.m.)  and Saturday mornings ( 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.).  All adults will need to show a green status from their daily health report to enter. Non-Ohio State family members over age 10 can complete an alternative health check at the Welcome Center when you check in for family hours. Children under 10 should have their temperature checked at home and be symptom free.

Please no water toys from home including inflatables and dive toys. Kickboards, dive sticks, dive rings and life jackets are available for use.

Climbing- Drop In
Family climbing will be available Monday - Thursday at the Outdoor Adventure Center from 3 - 5 p.m. starting Monday, May 24. Drop in during those hours to climb with assistance from our OAC staff.  An active membership is required, and all family members must be on the member's account in advance.

All adults will need to show a green status from their daily health report to enter. Non-Ohio State family members over age 10 can complete an alternative health check at the Welcome Center when you check in for family hours. Children under 10 should have their temperature checked at home and be symptom free. Shoes and helmets are available for use. Masks required by all participants at all times.

Eligibility
Recreational Sports strives to provide a family friendly environment. Anyone holding an annual or semester membership can bring immediate family members (spouse/partner and children under 18) who have been declared on their membership application for no additional charge during family hours (limited to one spouse/partner and dependents). Students paying the dedicated fee can add spouse/partner and dependents under 18 to their membership by stopping by the RPAC Welcome Center.

Documentation may be requested to confirm dependency - examples include: joint bank account, both names on lease/mortgage, joint utility bill, affidavit of partnership, marriage license. Family members must remain with the sponsoring member at all times while using Rec Sports facilities.

Save time and register your family members online through our membership portal at recregister.osu.edu. Current members may log in and update their dependents by clicking on their profile in the upper right corner. On the first page at the bottom click add dependent. Spouses/Partners and up to four children under 18 can be added at no charge for family hours access. To add additional children you must visit the RPAC Welcome Center. If you do not add your dependents online you will need to do so at your next visit to the facilities.
