Refunds and Cancellations

Please review the following policies prior to requesting a refund or membership cancellation.

Refunds

  • Any refund request must be formally made and is reviewed prior to any determination of funds being granted.  The refund form can be obtained by emailing recsports@osu.edu.

  • Beverage and equipment sales are final.

  • Guest passes are non-refundable.

  • Inquiries about refunds for specific programs can be directed to the area.

  • Refunds that have been granted will only be processed no longer than 90 days after first communication.

  • Any cancellations outside of the semester of purchase will not be refunded.

Membership Cancellations

  • Beginning July 1, recurring memberships can be canceled through the Rec Sports Member Portal. Members should log in, open their profile, select Memberships and follow the prompts to cancel their membership. Step-by-step instructions are available in the Membership Cancellation Guide.

  • An automated confirmation email will be sent to the email address on file after cancellation.

  • Canceling a membership only cancels your own membership. If another individual is tied to your account for billing, such as a spouse, partner, dependent or sponsored adult, that membership must be canceled separately.

  • There is a $40 cancellation fee for any monthly membership canceled within the first year of membership.

  • Rec Sports charges a $30 nonrefundable activation fee for every membership charged through monthly payroll deduction or recurring credit card payment. The fee covers internal fees associated with processing the membership and establishing payroll deduction or recurring payments, as well as management and auditing expenses.

  • The activation fee will be charged for any membership that is reactivated after being previously canceled.

  • Members are responsible for notifying recsports@osu.edu if their eligibility changes and they qualify for a different membership type or rate.

  • Members whose saved credit card declines more than two times will be prohibited from using a saved credit card as a form of payment through recurring monthly billing. Members who choose to continue will need to purchase a membership each term.
