Learn to Swim - Private Lessons
Private and semi-private swimming lessons are designed to meet the recreational needs of children (ages 4 and older) and adults. Registrants can choose their instructor and time of day within the provided offerings. Private lessons offer one-on-one instruction, while semi-private lessons offer instruction for two students with one instructor. Students sharing a semi-private lesson must be of the same skill level. Each private/semi-private lesson lasts 30 minutes.

Autumn 2026 Sessions
During the academic year, six 30-minute lessons are offered once per week at the same day and time for six weeks.

Mondays: September 14, 21 and 28; October 5, 12 and 19
Tuesdays: September 15, 22 and 29; October 6, 13 and 20
Wednesdays: September 9, 16, 23 and 30; October 7 and 14
Thursdays: September 10, 17 and 24; October 1, 8 and 22
Fridays: September 11, 18 and 25; October 2, 9 and 23
Sundays: September 13, 20 and 27; October 4, 11 and 25
No lessons October 15 - 18 due to Autumn Break.

Mondays: October 26; November 2, 9, 16 and 30; December 7
Tuesdays: October 27; November 3, 10, 17; December 1 and 8
Wednesdays: October 28; November 4, 11, 18; December 2 and 9
Thursdays: October 29; November 5, 12, 19; December 3 and 10
Fridays: October 30; November 6, 13, 20; December 4 and 11
Sundays: November 1, 8, 15 and 22; December 6 and 13
No lessons November 25-29 due to Thanksgiving Break.
Class Times
30-minute private and semi-private lessons may be offered during the following times. Offerings and available lesson times are subject to change based on instructor availability.
Actual offerings will be posted in the Member Portal prior to the start of registration.
Sundays: 10:10 a.m., 10:50 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 4:10 p.m., 4:50 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Weekdays: 4:10 p.m., 4:50 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:10 p.m., 6:50 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Autumn Registration Dates
Session 1
Returning Families: Date and time will be sent via email on August 3.
Returning families for Autumn Session 1 2026 are defined as families with a participant in Spring Session 2 2026 or Summer Session 2026.
New Families: Thursday, August 13 at 9 a.m.
Registration closes for Session 1 on Thursday, September 3 at 9 a.m.

Returning Families: Date and time will be sent via email on October 5.
Returning families for Autumn Session 2 2026 are defined as families with a participant in Autumn Session 1 2026.
New Families: Tuesday, October 13 at 9 a.m.

Make-up Class Policy
We do not provide make-up classes or refunds for any missed lessons. However, if your instructor must cancel a class, a make-up class will be provided. Make-up classes are not guaranteed and are dependent on our facility schedule and instructor availability.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
Any registrations that are canceled at least one week prior to the start of a program are eligible for a 100% refund minus a $15 administrative fee. Refunds or cancellations must be requested by emailing agegroup@osu.edu. Please note that all refund requests need to be reviewed and approved before a refund is provided. Any cancellations within less than one week of the start of a program will not be refunded. If you have any questions, please contact us at agegroup@osu.edu.
Parking
The Department of Recreational Sports does not provide parking. Please be sure to review your parking options. Participants who are affiliated with Ohio State and have a parking pass, please be sure to review where your pass allows you to park during programming hours.
