Intramurals and Sport Clubs
Student employees in the Competitive Sports program help officiate intramural sport leagues and support sport club events. This requisition includes two entry-level roles: Event Assistant and Event Assistant - Official. Selected candidates will be hired into both roles and assigned to a specific role for each shift based on operational needs.
- Primary location: Varies by sport, including the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC), Adventure Recreation Center (ARC), Fred Beekman Park, Coffey Road Park and Lincoln Tower Turf Fields
- Typical hours: Flexible shifts on weekdays, weeknights and weekends. Applicants should be available for at least two of these time frames.
- Required certifications: Sport rules and officiating procedures are taught during onboarding. CPR/AED/first aid certification is required or must be obtained after hire.
Event Assistant
Event Assistants support program operations during intramural sport leagues and sport club events. Responsibilities may include managing game play, recording scores, communicating with participants, assisting with event setup and teardown, completing reports and responding to risk or conflict situations. No prior experience is required.
Pay rate: $13.65 per hour
Event Assistant - Official
Event Assistant - Officials are trained to officiate intramural sport contests while also supporting program operations. Students learn sport rules, officiating mechanics and positioning while helping provide a fair, safe and welcoming environment for participants.
Pay rate: $15 per hour
