Instructional Programs

Ready to take your fitness to the next level? Our Instructional Programs offer progressive, skill-based sessions that help you build confidence, improve technique and achieve your fitness goals in a motivating small-group setting.

Buckeye Barbells

February 16 - April 17 | Registration opens January 12 at Noon
Focus on the fundamentals of strength training to build strength and confidence inside and outside the gym.

Program Details:

This eight-week program focuses on the fundamentals of strength training to build strength and confidence inside and outside the gym. The program will consist of four in-person lectures discussing training topics such as goal-setting, personal accountability and proper exercise program design. Participants will also learn the basics of the squat, bench and deadlift, as well as additional exercises in small-group training with certified personal trainers. Lectures and small-group instruction will be in person at the RPAC.

Buckeye Barbells includes four lectures and eight weekly small-group instructional sessions.

This course is $15 per person and open to Student Members only.


Hard CORE Workshop

Learn effective techniques to build and strengthen the core muscles essential for stability, balance and overall strength.

Program Details:

Strength starts from the core. In this one-hour workshop, participants will learn effective techniques to build and strengthen the core muscles essential for stability, balance and overall strength. This session blends traditional core exercises with creative nontraditional movements to keep things fresh and challenging. Whether you’re looking to improve your posture, boost performance or enhance total-body strength, this workshop will help you develop a solid foundation for all your fitness goals.

This workshop is offered on one date only:

  • Tuesday, March 10, 6 - 7 p.m.

Push Pull Legs: The Power of Split Training

March 23 - April 13 | Registration opens January 12
Explore the push-pull-legs training philosophy in this four-week program designed to build balanced strength and muscle.

Program Details:

This four-week program introduces participants to the push-pull-legs training philosophy, one of the most effective ways to build balanced strength and muscle. Each week, participants will learn exercises and how to build workout routines centered around the push-pull philosophy. Sessions take place in a small-group setting led by certified personal trainers, providing hands-on coaching, motivation and accountability. All sessions will be held in person at the RPAC.

This program meets on Mondays:

  • March 23 - April 13, 1 - 2 p.m.

Boxing Basics: Knock Out Your Fitness Goals

March 25 - April 15 | Registration opens January 12
Learn boxing fundamentals and footwork while getting a high-energy, full-body workout. No contact or experience required.

Program Details:

Looking to punch up your fitness routine? Our Boxing Basics class is your knockout solution! Using sparring mitts, you will learn fundamental boxing techniques and footwork blended with high-energy drills to give you a full-body workout. It’s a fantastic way to build strength and improve endurance without any sparring, bag work or contact. Equipment will be provided and all fitness levels are welcome. This course will meet weekly for four weeks at the RPAC South Gym.

This program meets on Wednesdays:

  • March 25 - April 15, 4:15 - 5:15 p.m.

This course is $7 per person.
