Earth Day

On Earth Day and every day, let’s celebrate our home.
Have you ever taken a moment to really think about our planet? It’s truly a magnificent place and planet Earth has it all. It’s our home, and it’s our duty to care for our home.
Earth Day first took place on April 22, 1970 and has grown into an international celebration of our home. Occurring each year on April 22, Earth Day serves to provide a voice to being more environmentally conscious and putting environmental concerns on the front page.
Our planet is where we live, learn, work and play. Taking care of our planet means taking care of ourselves, future generations, and all the other millions of organisms that must exist to sustain life.
You’ve likely heard about climate change. But did you know we all play a role in it? There are many, small steps that we can all take to care for our home and ensure it’s here to last. Some easy things that you can do, that have a large impact, include:
- Always carrying a reusable water bottle
- Add reusable eating utensils to your everyday bag
- Use reusable bags and try to reduce single use plastics (I.e. laundry soap containers, shampoo bottles, and more)
- Use your voice to advocate for our Earth
