Creating the Extraordinary Student Experience

What is Pickleball?

Ever heard of Pickleball and wondered what it was? Or, is this your first time hearing about the sport? Pickleball, as described by the USA Pickleball Association (USAPA), is a fun sport that can be played indoors or outdoors and combines the elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong! To play, all you need is 2-4 players, a paddle for each player and the pickleball, which is the specialty ball used to play the sport.

This spring, the RPAC is introducing pickleball into our open recreation schedule for the first time! Pickleball paddles are available at Sports Shop to rent for free with a BuckID and pickleball can be purchased there as well. Pickleball will be held on first come first serve open play on Sundays starting January 12, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

There will be no open rec Pickleball on the following dates:

2/9: Women’s Club Volleyball

3/29: Men’s Volleyball

4/19: NCDA Nationals

The Pickleball open rec schedule will be adjusted on the following dates:

3/8: Spring Break – Pickleball open rec begins at Noon

4/12: Easter – Pickleball open rec begins at Noon
